What if you could take control of your life and create the reality that YOU choose? What if you were free from limitations and could accomplish anything you want?
Sounds like a huge ordeal, right? You might have to do something crazy! WRONG. Taking back the reins of your life and shattering limitations is done by looking at the subtleties of how we operate.
Thoughts Create Reality
First, you must understand that our thoughts create our reality. Everything that exists in this world today first started as a thought. Any invention first began in the seed of someone’s mind. Even the simple daily decisions like choosing what to eat or which route to take to work began as a thought. However, a lot of these actions have become automatic, or subconscious - we don’t need to think too hard about brushing our teeth, we just do it.
We struggle to realize the power of our thoughts because there is usually a time lag between the thought and when it manifests in physical reality.
Further, we are unaware of how our perspective determines our truth. This is why two people could interpret the same situation differently. We are all interpreting reality through our lens. Every single event is filtered through the beliefs and experiences that we have accumulated since birth.
We can still be controlled by traumatic experiences that happened years ago, even if they have no relevance to today. That experience was so powerful that it dipped below our conscious awareness and into our subconscious, unaware that it is affecting us. That one past experience has been an overlay that cripples us through every experience in our present lives. Isn’t that mind-blowing?
The power comes in realizing you are able to shift your thoughts and perspectives toward what you truly want. When you become aware of how you are subconsciously programmed, you can change it. If you are stuck, you can shift the momentum. If you are shackled by fear, anxiety, and limiting beliefs, you can break free. The possibilities become truly limitless when you learn to rewire yourself.
The Subconscious Mind
Modern computers were modeled from the human brain. The brain can be programmed just as a computer can. When we were born, the mind was a blank slate, extremely malleable and receptive to everything in our environment. Over time, we have been clouded by negative experiences and beliefs that we have yet to process.
The conscious mind represents our immediate awareness of the present moment. It encompasses our thoughts, perceptions, and experiences that we are currently aware of. When we consciously think, deliberate, and make decisions, it is the conscious mind at work.
Deeply rooted in our psyche is the subconscious mind, operating below the conscious mind. It possesses a vast processing capacity and handles automatic tasks, routine behaviors, and bodily functions like breathing and digestion. The subconscious mind serves as a storehouse of long-term memories, beliefs, past experiences, and emotions. It can influence our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors without conscious awareness.
Our subconscious mind is constantly being molded by every bit of information, each interaction, and even the thoughts our conscious mind generates. The clothing you wear can also impact your subconscious positively or negatively. That is why we designed empowering apparel, as a constant reminder of your true power!
Rewiring For Power
Reprogramming the subconscious mind is crucial to break free from negative habits and cycles. This process takes patience, but over time you can completely transform yourself. Every empowering thought is a step in the right direction. Take responsibility for your mindset and remember that you have the power to change your circumstances.
Be conscious of how you speak to yourself. If you are constantly calling yourself stupid, you are telling your subconscious that you are incapable. Looking at each failure as an opportunity to grow ensures constant improvement. Statements, or mantras, such as “I am improving” or “I am powerful” rewire yourself over time. The subconscious responds to repetition.
Tips for the Rewiring Process
Value Your Attention
Focus is one of our most valuable assets. What we put our attention on grows. We can either focus on empowering elements that aid our growth or scatter our attention among various destructive and irrelevant information sources that keep us stuck in negative cycles. Maintaining unwavering attention on our goals can be challenging, as we are constantly bombarded with short-term gratifications that hijack our focus.
Defining Your Intentions
Writing down your intentions daily is an extremely powerful way to rewire yourself. The act of writing pushes thoughts deeper into your subconscious. Begin your morning by listing your goals or qualities you are working to develop.
As you consistently define your intentions, you will find yourself making decisions throughout the day that are aligned with the path to your goals.
It is crucial to note that simply visualizing your goals will not allow them to manifest. Visualization paired with action is an unstoppable combination that ensures your goals will happen.
Further, do not get too attached to how and when your goals will manifest. This closes you off to unseen possibilities. Focus on taking action in the right direction and you will be rewarded.
Media Consumption
Constant exposure to irrelevant information about other people’s lives can overwhelm and prevent us from hearing our own thoughts. However, social media can be beneficial if consciously curated. Follow accounts that relate directly to your goals or align with mindsets you are trying to instill. Follow The Higher Self Project on Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok!
Consider avoiding the news and creating barriers against negative information. Most news is designed to induce fear and anxiety on the viewer. Disempowering news reports can seep into your subconscious and have a negative impact. Ruthlessly filter the information you are exposed to.
Music is often overlooked as a form of consumption, yet it surrounds us daily. Its impact often goes unnoticed. Many times, we absorb lyrics without realizing their influence on our mental state. Negative messages are common in today's music, keeping us in a lower state. It is essential to recognize that everything we consume, including music, affects us on a subconscious level.
Conscious Social Interaction
We subconsciously absorb information and energy from those around us. During your journey, you may encounter individuals who hold negative views or disagree with the personal growth work you are undertaking. Remember that their reactions are not personal; they may feel insecure when they witness you taking control of your life, as it highlights their own inadequacies. Unapologetically distance yourself from these individuals during the rewiring process.
It is crucial to separate from those who are caught in negative habit cycles, even if they are family. Your inner work may serve as motivation for them to embark on their own journey. Remember that your time, energy, and focus are valuable resources that need to be directed towards your own growth and well-being at this time.
Substance Use
Substances hold a significant influence over our mental state and can be considered a form of information. During this transformative process, it is advisable to remove or reduce the consumption of substances like alcohol, marijuana, and nicotine. By doing so, you create a favorable environment for clearing your mind and facilitating the reprogramming of your subconscious.
Abstaining from these greatly aid in the clearing of brain fog, balancing of hormones, and the preservation of motivation. By maintaining sobriety, your brain can establish new connections more effectively and break free from old patterns. This is due to the phenomenon of neuroplasticity, which plays a vital role in the rewiring process. You optimize your brain's ability to form and reorganize synaptic connections, ultimately supporting your progress and success in the reprogramming process (Sampedro-Piquero P, et al.).
Stay The Course
Remember, this process takes time. Be patient with yourself, observe when you are falling back into old patterns, and adjust accordingly. With every decision, you can choose to make the empowering choice that leads you closer to your goals.
Would you rather spend the effort to transform yourself now, or continue to be stuck where you are for the rest of your life? You will regret not taking control of your programming. Make the commitment now.
